Actually, we haven’t seen a horrible high-speed death (cordies, mullies et al) on Canberra’s roads (touch wood) for more than a year have we? I hope that will be an ongoing lull. RIP to the poor fellow who just died.

Intersection of Majura Rd and the federal highway … was it on Majura Road itself, or where the traffic blends onto the federal highway?

I think you are missing the point. Twelve people are twelve people, all with family and friends who are grieving for their loss. The figures do not matter. If that makes me bereft of reason, I’m quite happy to be bereft.

Actually what amazes me is that there are not more fatalities on our roads given the number of both incompetent and dangerous drivers out there.
