ACT Policing has caught a 23-year-old man travelling 149km/h in an 80km zone along Parkes Way early this morning (Monday, January 16).
Around 6am police recorded the man travelling 69km/h over the speed limit. He was issued with a Traffic Infringement Notice and fined $1,811 and lost six demerit points off his licence.
In another incident, on Sunday (January 15) around 12.50am, police attended Ellerston Avenue in Isabella Plains after receiving information from the public that a man driving a silver Mercedes had failed to stop after colliding with a parked vehicle.
Shortly after their arrival, a member of the public contacted police to report a man driving a silver Mercedes erratically on Johnson Drive, with damage to the front end of his vehicle.
Police attended Johnson Drive and conducted a traffic stop. The man refused to undergo a roadside screening test and was taken to the Watch House.
He was issued with an Immediate Suspension Notice and will be summonsed to court at a later date.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday (January 14) police conducted a random breath test on a motorbike rider on Hardwick Crescent, Holt.
The 19-year-old Kaleen man is a probationary licence holder, subject to 0.00 alcohol limit, and gave a positive reading for alcohol. He was found to have an alcohol content (AC) of 0.207. He was given Watch House bail and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
