An 18-year-old Holder man has been arrested after ACT Policing executed a search warrant and seized drugs from his car and house yesterday afternoon (July 16).
Around 12.30am last Saturday (July 14), officers from Woden General Duties searched a blue Ford XR6 at the Weston skate park, after reports of people acting suspiciously. During the search officers located and seized a quantity of cannabis and tablets, suspected to be ecstasy.
The 18-year-old owner of the vehicle was informed that he would receive a summons to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date to answer charges relating to the drugs.
Around 2.50pm, yesterday (July 16), officers were conducting a patrol along Streeton Drive, Stirling when they saw the blue Ford XR6 and its three occupants behaving suspiciously in the car park near the ovals.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle as it left the car park and commenced an emergency search of the car and occupants.
During the search police located a butterfly knife, a clip seal bag containing a white substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, and a sum of cash strapped to the man’s leg. Officers also located and seized a quantity of cannabis.
A subsequent search warrant at a house in Holder found a quantity of cannabis which was seized.
The 18-year-old was conveyed to the ACT Watch House and charged with a number of drug-related offences. He is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court later this morning.
