7.30 ACT on the ABC
Friday November 28th
The penultimate program.
- ThroughCare – a program for prisoners both during incarceration and after – cutting recidivism rates. Chris Low, former prisoner, explains the positive effects of the program on his new life.
- Monty for a Mate – Geza McClinton was horrendously injured and left for dead when a taxi driver ran over him – and drove off. The driver is in prison and Geza is in constant pain. His tradie workmates have dropped everything to support him – in a nude calendar. The tragic story gets a humorous and heartfelt twist.
- A Tale of 2 Cities – Nicholas Brown and Nichole Overall have written books, respectively about Canberra and Queanbeyan. They agree on one thing – both cities benefit from the existence of the other.
- Iron Man – with a passion for astronomy and science fiction, Barry Armstead is not your average shed tinker. His shed is anything but average too. It’s a front yard observatory that he built to chase the stars and now he’s turned his skills to building a suit of armour, out of paper, cardboard and steel.
