Today we have the Commonwealth Bank’s building in Civic.

The Lego buildings built in Civic in the 1980s were the worst of all. Get them up as quickly as possible (“fast tracking”). In 1989 I worked at Customs in one of the Lego buildings in Constitution Ave that was built just two years earlier. The building was already falling apart back then. I’m surprised they are still standing.
True Dis. The one they built where the workers club was in Civic… not to mention Brindabella Park
Are there any commercial buildings in Canberra that have the appeal of the Melb and Sydney buildings? I accept those buildings are not suited to modern offices, but at least they look nice. Some of the New Acton buildings are at least interesting, and the one at 121 Marcus Clarke is ok, but even those are ‘not offensive’ rather than ‘interesting’.

Be of good cheer dtc, they will quickly fall victim to concrete cancer. Just be grateful they’re weren’t built by the romans
Yeah, what have the Romans ever done for us?

And brown concrete was the in thing…
Have to say I hate the concrete monoliths that were built in Canberra during the, what, 60s and 70s? They will live forever.
Not that there are too many buildings since then that are much to boast about.
