The sign is perfect if read as an information sign. It is advising there is no food that belongs to a dog or more than one drink inside through these doors.

So if the sign isn’t saying dogs aren’t allowed to bring their food and drinks inside, is it supposed to say:

No dogs, food, or drinks inside – thank you!

Maybe they should drop the ! too………

Well I can! The apostrophe in dog’s indicates the possessive for the food, and by association, the drinks. So, what the sign is saying you cannot bring food or drinks belonging to your dog inside. One assumes from this that your own food and drinks are perfectly acceptable. Remove the apostrophe from dog’s and the sign would revert to the originally intended meaning.

Hence my post, and my reference to the sign being aimed at a (Kingston!) clientele with furkids.
