ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a ram raid that occurred in Belconnen early this morning (Monday, July 15) in which a cafe was rammed by a vehicle and entry gained to the premises.
At around 12:45am two men driving a late model white station wagon were seen at the Black Pepper Café on Beissel Street Belconnen.
Police arrived a short time later to find the glass door at the side of the premises smashed. It is believed they used the vehicle to pull the door out of the frame.
The two males then entered the premises, removed an automatic teller machine located just inside the door and fled the location.
Police are urging any witnesses that may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour around the café at the time of the incident, or who may have seen a suspicious white vehicle in the area, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
If you have concerns over the security of your business ACT Policing has Business Liaison Officers that can provide information on ways to prevent crime. To speak with one of our officers call 6256 7777.
