The weekend’s coming down on us like a runaway train.
What do you recommend people get out to see and do?
Just leave your thoughts in the comments.

Snowsports Ski Sale & Expo
Members of the public and snow sports community are invited to sell pre-loved ski and snowboard equipment, including skis, snowboards, boots and winter clothing at our annual sale held in the 2nd weekend of May each year. The 2009 Ski & Snowboard Sale & Expo is on Saturday May 9 at the Old Bus Depot, Kingston, 9am-2pm.If you have any further enquires of you have ski items to sell check out their website .
Like to report that I went to this sale. Got some OK bargans – older style kids helmets for $20; kids ski boots about the same – but the skis themselves I thought were too pricey. $160 bucks for a pair of tiny skis to fit a four year old. I mean, geesh! And prices as marked – so no chance to bargain.
Am still in the market for some gear. If anyone who failed to sell their skis (and there was plenty of everything left on the shelf when I left) for kids about 4 and 6 years of age, leave a message here and I will contact you. Also interested in stocks and goggles.
There was also very limited and not well enclosed change rooms for clothes right in front of the long, long queue of bored customers waiting to buy gear. OK for those exhibitionists but not everyone’s cup of tea.
And speaking of tea, there was no-one selling beverages of any kind.
Still, managed to get out of it for $160 – three helmets, two pairs of kiddy ski boots, and one pair of kiddy goggles.
Interested to hear if anyone else went and how they found it.
Get down to Praga Cafe at Dickson for a delicious breakfast that isn’t just your average eggs benedict. One of the few places at this time of year where you can sit in some mid morning sun and not under a cold, shadowy awning in the city. Review coming soon. And no, I have no connection to the place other than it’s my favourite breakfast venue in Canberra!
Ice Hockey season is upon us! Saturday night at the Phillip Ice Skating rink, starts at about 6 I think.
