Why is Cotter Road (in between RSPCA and Streeton Drive) getting dug up again?
They only just finished building that bit didn’t they?

Is there any plan to align McCulloch St and Lady Denman Dve? Having those two intersections (and two sets of lights) there seems insane. There’s plenty of space there to use, and it’s not a large amount of road to build.
Having just spend a huge amount of money and time removing the roundabout to give us two lanes each way and a bus lane (replacing the two lanes each way that were already there) I’d say don’t hold your breath. Also, there’s no sign of any work on the duplication required between the lights and the Parkway.

OP, what they are doing is rebuilding the intersection at Streeton Drive, so that the main flow from the Parkway end is towards John Gorton Drive rather than Streeton Drive. It will make it 2 lanes each way from the Tuggeranong Parkway all the way to where John Gorton Drive will join Coppins Crossing road.
To do that a small part of the Cotter road needs to be realigned to match the new road alignment.
I am praying to all the best Gods that this doesn’t inconvenience any cyclists.
Did they really finish building a road and then dig it up again? I’d consider that a fairly fatal flaw in planning.
Because that’s what passes for ACT road construction.
Was amused (and, oddly, disappointed) to see in the roadworks at the Monaro Hwy/Majura Rd chicane – a federal road project – the temporary little bypass lane they’ve built is superior quality to major arterials built recently here in Cbr :-\
