I managed to run 8 IB’s from 1990-1997, Johns, Fenner and Toad.
1993 Fenner Hall’s 1st ever sporting trophy had me drinking free beer for a full year,
1994 finishing on Sunday wasn’t fun.
Good Times
Good luck to all those running,
yeah, these are Inward Bound runners from ANU:

Suspended drivers running from the law? No wait, in this town they just keep driving…
Given that they are all in their late teens / early twenties, and that they are wearing backpacks, I would suggest that they are training for the ANU inter-college “Inward Bound” competition. IB has several divisions where participants are blindfolded, then dropped in the bush with a map and a compass at night and have to work out where they are, and how to get back to the end point. Fun times.
Probably some guys jogging through Civic, same as what you were doing.
