There was a massive explosion just after 4 o’clock this morning in the West Belconnen area.
I presume it was an amalgam of fireworks that destroyed another letter box.
Anyone know for sure what was the target and where?

Yeah, I think I heard one at the said time in Lyneham (I’m a light sleeper).
I originally thought it was a sonic boom from a RAAF plane. It had some shock force behind it that couldn’t be given off from a firecracker.
It’s just the quaint sound of meth labs exploding. How’s the serenity?
There were about 3 or 4 loud explosions throughout the course of last night, there must be a few fireworks waiting in peoples’ garages still to be exploded.
I live in the area and didn’t hear a thing. Had a few beers though and hit the pillow hard.
According to RiotACT police report there was a post box blown up at the Higgins shops.
It sounded like two smallish explosions in a row to me – I just presume standard run of the mill bungers.
