Our host band this month is Judi Pearce & The Arrangement (JPA); a 6 piece ensemble featuring strong rhythmic interpretations of jazz, blues & contemporary songs laced with powerful vocal & sax melodies.
Lead vocalist, Judi Pearce has won multiple awards including the 2006 Chain Awards, Australian Blues Vocalist of the Year & the Canberra Blues Society female vocalist in 2003. Judi leads the band through a broad range of well known songs from the jazz & blues greats to contemporary singers such as Amy Winehouse & Duffy. Nicki King’s strong harmony vocals add that ‘vintage soul’ touch, so characteristic of the band’s style & focus.
A solid, dance focussed beat is provided by the experienced rhythm section of Dean Edgecombe on bass & Murv Cowell on drums, with the complex guitar work of classically-trained Michael Hardy & the soaring atmospheric sax solos from the ex-RMC Band’s James Hoogstad.
JPA will be followed by some of the finest blues musicians jamming together for a great afternoon’s entertainment.
