I heard shihad/pacifier interviewed on JJJ and was frankly amazed
basically they meant to call themselves “Jihad” but arsed it up on account of being thick.
Then after 9/11 they panicked and decided it was too dangerous to be called something that sounded like “Jihad”, on account of being cowards (in my opinion). Such is modern Rock’n’Roll.
(That’s what I got from the interview the next is my surmise)
Then they took a huge commerical hit and realised being called Shihad wasn’t such a problem and changed their name back (on account of god knows what)
Some good songs regardless.
Shihad changed their name back a while ago, i read that they apparently came to their senses and that their record sales had dropped as well.
I dunno, I guess they changed it back. yay for pushing back on the universal tide of Semantic Stupidity.
I thought Shihad are now called Pacifier, or do they only use that name in the US?
