Google Street View in Canberra?

They are fuzzing out people faces this year …. perfect opportunity to perform a random streak out the front of someones house without getting you head in the pic. :0

I saw on the news the other night that they were doing a report on every Sydney street being re-done. They showed the car; it was white, it had the Google logo printed over it and a huge post on the top with 8 (I think) cameras pointing out in every direction, I think it was a Holden Barina but I’m not sure, I wasn’t paying much attention. Also Google might use a different car for Canberra than they do for Sydney.

Just make sure you’re not caught walking out of certain establishments in Fyshwick or Mitchell at an inopportune moment. 🙂

I came across a Navteq 4wd driving around the city within the last couple of months too. It looks very similar to the street-view car, but has navman/navteq logos on it instead of google and had same sort of imaging equipment on the roof.

It didn’t appear to have any signage on it… And it was relaly quick that it went past – But I believe it was a black corolla-ish looking thing with the gear on it’s roof.

Gee, when the new pics go up we can look at them for a few minutes then never bother with them again.

Bugger! Of course they got my house before I mowed the lawn :\
