Canberra’s premiere male barbershop chorus, the Canberra Chordsmen, are presenting “A Very Merry Concert” on the 5th of December at the Wesley Uniting Church in Forrest.
Off the back of a very successful performance at the national Barbershop Harmony Australia Convention, receiving the highest score in our club history and the most improved chorus award, the Canberra Chordsmen invite you to join them for a musical showcase featuring famous broadway numbers, soft rock, traditional barbershop tunes, topped off with seasonal carols – all in the barbershop style!
The concert will also feature songs by our medallist youth quartet “The Crunch” and seniors quartet the “Corduroys”.
The Canberra Chordsmen are challenging the stereotype that barbershop singing is only about wheezy old songs, funny hats and candy striped vests. The chorus welcomes men of all ages with members as young as 18.
“People who see us perform are excited by the unique features of barbershop style singing. We often have men come up after a show and ask how they can join our chorus.” – Mike Matthew, Chorus President
Whether you’re young or young at heart, let the Canberra Chordsmen entertain you with some great banter, familiar tunes, and awesome harmonising!
