Hi all,
I’m looking for a solicitor who is able to do the work involved in the winding up of a family trust. Does anyone know of one who is reliable and doesn’t charge the earth?
Thanks in advance,
Peter

I dont have a family trust but a close friend recently had to wind one up. Legal fees were around $2k plust the usual lodgement fees etc.
He did it himself there are forms to complete and lodge with ASIC and the ATO and lodgement fees of course but it was not a process that required him to don wig and gown.
He found the instructions via google and it took some time to do but that was becuase there is a strict protocol to follow along with waiting and processing times but he said to me it was certainly easier than dealing with Aged Care for his parents…

Thanks for your reply – but my situation is thankfully not difficult or acrimonious, just the work involved in winding up a trust.
Luck you ! Dean will breeze it in for you. His slogan is “the law untangled”, and he’s delightful.

I have been using Dean Prail of Prail Lawyers & found him good. My case was an unpleasant one & I have been happy with how he has managed it. He has not inflamed the situation, but has been supportive for the resolution of a very difficult & acrimonious situation.
If you want to go at it all guns blazing & no compromise, try Bradley Allen & Love, but have your cheque book ready.
