No coroners report.
No toxicology test results.
No vehicle inspection after the event.Clearly not in the public interest to release a few facts.
I too wondered if the poor soul was driving a Toyota.
How many suicides have you seen published in The Canberra Times lately? There may have been 5 this year already that you don’t know about, because they are not made public.
This is no different.
I’m pretty sure you will find that looking at the scene and assessing the conditions, the Crash Investigations and Reconstruction Team that the AFP have would have been able to give a preliminary finding as to the cause of the accident.
Just because you don’t understand the process does not mean that there is a conspiracy.
You do know that it is a member of the ACT Police that does the Coroners report right? It would have been done the day of the crash.

there’s clearly a bit more to it for such a rapid conclusion, but why should we be so keen to know the details. It appears the families of the Narra crash were happy to air their stories in the media and blame the police as soon as. Why are we so ghoulish to pry if the family don’t want the attention, unless there is a public interest. Was it Godwin Grech?
just looked the author up on urban dictionary dot com …SMUCK:
“It is a Hebrew Word for the Foreskin that gets chopped off at birth. So when a person that is educated or a Jew calls you a Smuck. He or She is calling you a useless piece of dick.”

Also, why is the identity withheld? Is this seriously the same reporting that told us up-to-the-minute details on those involved in Narrabundah plus their families, friends and long-lost puppies.. most of which was irrelevant to the accident? Why such a massive turn-around in only a couple of weeks?
You criticise their actions a few weeks ago, and now criticise their new actions. You sound like you think they made a mistake then, and are making a mistake now by fixing their mistake.
Im not whinging about their actions, Im whinging about the lack of consistency. In one instance they report on the story and history of everyone involved, but in another they dont.
If it was someone who drove into a tree on a quiet road, then the above reasons could be believed, but this was someone driving into Parliament House. If someone drove a car into the white house building or the kremlin, we’d hear endless details, but not when they drive into Australia’s Parliament House, because the families might be affected? Did news media in Canberra have a sudden policy change this past week?

Identities are generally withheld when a suicide attempt is successful – unless of course you are famous and then it becomes public information.
Other road deaths where the victim dies of other causes prior to having the accident are also excluded from road stats – ie driver has heart attack, runs off the road with insufficient momentum for significant trauma, does not count towards the road toll.
Back a few years ago I was sure an elderly driver had a heart attack while driving through Torrens & that was counted.
I suspect the death may of been an (ex) employee at Parliament House & the lake is a popular location for suicide & suicides aren’t usually as publicized.

There’s a lot of covering up done over many road deaths. Remember that kickboxer/bouncer who drove his car across the median strip in Adelaide Ave and rammed it into the wall near the Thai Embassy? The widow and the local media were trying to claim he had a heart attack but everybody in the know knew it was caused by the side effects of anabolic steroid abuse. The police knew the truth and thus included the death in the road toll.

Go whinge about the AFP on facebook with the other haters.

Having a heart attack when there is no consequential ‘accident’ is hardly a ‘road death’.
And while we’re at it, there is no such thing as a road ‘accident’ in 99.999% of crash incidents. It’s usually due to some idiot being, well, an idiot!

Since when have ‘delibrate act’s not been counted as road deaths? Are deaths now only counted if the government suspects alcohol/speeding were involved to stick to the road-safety agenda?
