Looking for a recommendation for a excavation/earth moving contractor...

Anyone able to recommend a contractor for a small job?

Need to level a site on a slight slope, around 8×8 meters, for a couple of shipping containers.

Cheap is good, but so is reliable.

You can try Dave (0448 080 33). He has a minimum 4 hour callout at $85 plus GST per hour, with an 8 tonne truck.

Don’t have a specific recommendation, but when you’re looking, I can advise (from experience) that the size of the truck the contractor has available makes a big difference. Try to find someone with a big truck, because the only place in town that allows you to dump all the soil and grass that needs to be removed is out near Pialligo – and given that’s a fair drive from just about anywhere in Canberra, the last thing you want is to be paying for a small truck to drive back and foward to dump the soil.

Wouldnt mind knowing this too, … as I need to excavate approx 7×9 in my yard for a garage soon
