Anyone got any good caretaker mode stories?

YEAH – CARETAKER!!
Yeah! Get to have all my work returned because now it is apparently out of date. Yay!
Caretaker then…waiting for the changes to happen with the next Government. Machinery of Government…..Millions of taxpayers $$ spent to move public servants from one spot to another, to rename Departments, to print new stationery (well the bit that arent on line), to redesign websites and produced pointless brochures and collateral. Oh joy.

Maybe the whole public service should be outsourced to the private sector after the election so those pampered, overpaid idiots don’t get a chance to stuff things up for the new government and cause an elected prime minister to be ousted without even serving one term.
You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Which is why I’ve chosen to jettison this comment.

How can I vote for someone who over threw their own leader? It’s a matter of trust and it seems no-one can be trusted.
Every political party has overthrown its leader (the Liberal Party did it countless times prior to the previous election). If you feel uncomfortable about it, perhaps you should fine a nice little dictatorship in Africa or South America to settle down in, somewhere where there’s never a threat of leadership change.
The Greens have been out in force at the Jamison shops and the belconnen markets for the last few weeks. Some young future apparatchik accosted me on my Saturday shopping rounds. He took great offence at my suggestion that voting Greens will just return Labor for another three years of inaction and incompetence.
So who is actually standing? I know of G for Gulia, Spike Milligan and Andrew Leigh, but will we have any looney minor parties supplying the laughs?

Here’s something to think about. If you work in tha APS and were considering voting Labor – if Labor gets up, it could be you ends up with Kevin Rudd as your new Minister. Is that what you really want?
OR the alternative is Tony Howard, ahem Abbott.
Crap… here I was all excited about the election and then RA has to remind me about Caretaker mode… Can I hibernate for the next five weeks?
The public service in caretaker mode where they can’t do anything? Excellent. At least there’ll be no more young tradies dying whilst installing insulation for dodgy, fly-by-night merchants the public servants gave thousands of dollars to, and there’ll be a temporary halt to the schools building fiasco which was another humungous cock-up by the bureaucrats. Maybe the whole public service should be outsourced to the private sector after the election so those pampered, overpaid idiots don’t get a chance to stuff things up for the new government and cause an elected prime minister to be ousted without even serving one term.

…and if you work for PM&C you could be working for the Mad Monk. Is that what you really want?
I am going to suffer a moral dilemma: choosing the lesser of two weevil. Or, is that ‘grubs’?
I seriously doubt there will be anything going into caretaker mode… this government hasn’t done anything yet!
Well the next month of the Government doing nothing, at least they can be consistent with the last 3 years.
