Goulburn’s talented musicians have been given the chance to collaborate with the renowned music group, Ensemble Offspring, in a free musical event this Saturday (24 November).
The musical group are taking their beloved Sizzle performance to the Goulburn Club where they will collaborate with local talent and bring their unique brand of music-making to the regional town.
From classical music to pop music and everything in between, Sizzle is a free family-friendly event, with stunning performances by choirs and the much loved singer-songwriter, Leonard Cohen.
Ensemble Offspring are champions of adventurous new music and embrace open-minded music-making in all its forms, from seminal chamber work to free improvisation, alongside the creation of striking interdisciplinary productions.
Based in Sydney, the ensemble is led by acclaimed percussionist Claire Edwardes and the core septet features some of Australia’s most innovative and virtuosic performers.
Winners of the 2016 Art Music Award for Excellence, Ensemble Offspring has performed throughout Australia and the world – from Katherine to Hong Kong and Brugge to Wagga Wagga.

Goulburn Regional Conservatorium CEO Paul Scott-Williams said he was thrilled to be able to collaborate with Ensemble Offspring on this inaugural visit to Goulburn.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for our community and particularly our local choirs and musicians to engage with a virtuoso team of musicians and really have fun with the music,” he said.
“The intention of Sizzle is to break down the barriers between audiences and performers, and there will be plenty of opportunities for audience members to interact and join in the fun.”
Bring along the family and revel in the fun and raucous variety show that is Ensemble Offspring’s annual Sizzle.
