Maybe Wormtongue, but those incompetent staff from the QLD hospital were let go as at JJMH and now that QLD hospital is one of the largest, well respected, well run and profitable hospitals in the Southern Hemisphere. Perhaps private dinner conversations should be kept there with the Chardonnay? Let’s face it, if the current CEO had not acted as swiftly as he did, the hospital would have been virtually lost to its current form and many if not all the staff would have lost their jobs. This way at least JJMH remains for Canberra as it always has. Happy Ramadan to all, by the way.
Well if Barking Mad Toad thought the last CEO who refused to cut staff and was asked to go was bad she ought to know the new CEO was called The Assassin at a hospital he ran in QLD and staff used to acid attacj his car!!! They say be careful what you wish for — some staff wished the last CEO gone and now look at their reward seven months later!
Oh no one owns John James. It was established as a not for profit hospital by doctors loans. The doctors vote in a board a bit like an electors but no one has any ownership except of course the bank!
The real problem was nurse wages rose 30% in three years but health funds only passed on increaeses of 4% per annum despite big fee rises to their members. John James had to decide whether to close a ward or modernise and expand to handle more voloume. They chose the latter and the Board panicked when the cash flow tightened
wonder if the incompetence and nepotism
of the the previous (sacked) CEO had anything to do with the current state of finances?
Canberra needs John James Hospital.
Yeah, I’ve had rapid surgery there before. They did an ok job, except for the cranky old nurse who had a go at me for ‘not standing on the scales properly’. But I fixed her, she thought the urine sample jug only had a little in it…. hehehe!
But you can’t beat their ‘do it now service’
I had a hernia fixed 13 years ago, and boy, were thay fast.
Yep. It cost my employer a bundle.. But I’m worth it ™
I wonder how they can be so short on cash? They charge a motza for any service there – our youngest was born there 2 years ago and it was expensive even with private health insurance!
