ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated burglary and assault which occurred in Dunlop yesterday (September 10) around 6.05pm.
Police attended the Shoobridge Circuit residence where the 26-year-old male victim described how he had returned home and disturbed a single male offender inside the premises. The offender fled through the rear of the house. The victim chased the offender over the rear fence and onto a footpath. A physical altercation then occurred between the offender and the victim. During the altercation the victim received a laceration to the left side of his face from an as yet unidentified object. The offender then fled the location.
ACT Ambulance Services assessed the victim however he did not require further medical treatment.
A number of non-circulated coins, cash and jewellery were stolen.
The offender was described as wearing a black hooded jumper and carrying an orange/mustard coloured back pack.
Police conducted an extensive search of the area and AFP Forensic Services attended and examined the scene.

In particular, police would like to speak to a young male who was in Shoobridge Circuit at the time of the altercation. Information can be provided anonymously.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault of a taxi driver which occurred on Berrigan Crescent in O’Connor yesterday (September 10).
Around 5.40am police responded to a report of the assault and on arrival found the 36-year-old Flynn man away from his vehicle and in shock. Police located the taxi on a side street. It is understood the assault occurred as part of a fare evasion and possible attempted robbery.
ACT Ambulance Services attended and transported the victim to the Calvary Hospital where he received treatment to facial injuries sustained in the assault.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in O’Connor yesterday morning to contact Crime Stoppers.
