The National Capital Authority is warning of “extreme” levels of blue-green algae at Black Mountain Beach and Weston Park.
Not a particularly hot summer, lots of water been through lately, is that it for the Lake as a recreational waterway?

I was kayaking on the lake last night between BMB and WP and the blue green warning ceratinly did not seem to have any effect on the public.
BTW I have seen in previous postings the attitude between cyclist and recumbent cyclists does the same exist between kayakers and the kayaks fitted with pedal systems?

You could always swim dog-paddle or old-ladies-breast-stroke and keep your head above water. 😉 I was planning on doing the whole tri-series this year, but due to an endless series of dramas, including the filthy lake, I’ve not done a single one. I’m a self-confessed wuss!
Ok so I was to participate in a lake swim tomorrow night, part of the Capital Summer Festival. The swim is in an area that is supposedly safe to swim in, but…. as the water is only tested once weekly, is it reasonable to assume that the Ronds Terrace spot in the Cental Basin could be unsafe tomorrow?
