It’s that time of the week to let the world know about what the best things happening in Canberra are this weekend.
If you’re not sitting in airconditioning somewhere, what will you be doing? How to celebrate the last weekend you can smoke indoors?

Three theatrical events this week:
– Impro ACT has their last performance of the year this Sunday at 7:30 – “Wild”, in which the impro mob will be using Animal-inspired ideas to make stuff up for your entertainment and/or bemusement. Tickets range from $15-18.
– “I’ll be back before midnight” continues its run at Canberra Rep tonight, Friday and Saturday night at 8, with matinee on Saturday at 2pm. A thriller with gunshots, blood, family jealousy and all kinds of good stuff – according to my theatregoing partner, I screamed at least once, and since I’m a tough, rugged chap, that should count for something. Student rush tickets tonight are $20 or two for $24, otherwise range from $32 top price to $20 flat price for the matinee. Runs until December 9th.
– Shortis and Simpson combine with Peter J. Casey for their christmas comedy cabaret “A Miracle on Childer’s Street” – with gags on everything from Alan Jones to Cirque De Soleil (and undobutedly a few things that aren’t exceptionally gay, too…) Performances tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 8 – tickets range from $20-30. Also runs till December 9th.
