ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault in Richardson yesterday morning (Sunday, March 6).
Around 2.50am, two females and two males were at the Richardson skate park and playground in Cliff Crescent when they were approached by a group of up to seven males.
The group of males proceeded to assault the two male victims, with one of the males punched and kicked in the face. The two males and two females managed to escape the group, and ran to a nearby house to call police.
No property was stolen from any of the victims.
One of the male offenders is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, approximately 186cm (6”1’) tall and was wearing a red jumper, dark trousers and white shoes at the time of the assault. The other males in the group are described as being aged in their late teens.
It is believed the group of males were driving a blue Subaru WRX with a loud exhaust and a white ute in the Tuggeranong area prior to the assault.
Anyone who was near the Richardson skate park and playground early Sunday morning and may have seen the group of males or either of the two vehicles mentioned above are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
