A 21-year-old Ainslie man will face court this morning (Friday, March 25) after spitting at a police officer in the ACT Watch House.
The man was arrested in Ainslie about 10pm after police received a report about a man threatening another man with a knife.
Police have taken the 21-year-old to the ACT Watch House and while there he has become aggressive and spat at police, hitting a male police officer in the face.
The man has been charged with two counts of common assault, possess offensive weapon with intent and cause harm to a commonwealth public official.
The police officer will undergo blood tests for analysis.
