ACT Policing’s Crime Targeting Team has arrested a 19-year-old male for a robbery in Wanniassa last month (March 14).
Around 10.10pm on Monday, March 14, two men were walking along McBryde Crescent Wanniassa when they were approached by a silver coloured Honda Civic.
A male got out of the rear of the vehicle and asked to use the men’s mobile phones. One of the men produced a mobile phone and the offender asked the other man to empty his pockets. The male offender took property from both men and then struck one of the men rendering him unconscious.
Following several lines of enquiry, police followed a red Mazda 3 sedan along Johnson Drive in Isabella Plains yesterday afternoon. Police stopped the vehicle on Keverstone Avenue and spoke to the 19-year-old male passenger. He was subsequently arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House.
The man was charged with robbery and will face the ACT Magistrates Court today.
