Alleged Braddon child smutmonger arrested

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations detectives from the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team, have arrested a 56 year-old Braddon man with a number of offences relating to sexual intercourse with young persons.

Police executed a search warrant at an address in Braddon on Thursday night (April 21) and seized a number of items. The man was arrested at the conclusion of the search warrant and taken to the ACT Regional Watch House.

The alleged offender was charged with sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16, possessing child pornography and producing child pornography. Police will be opposing bail.

No one is defending anyone, the reason being that he has been charged and not even tried yet. Have you considered just the one scenario here? People don’t generally defend those behaviors on the whole. It’s over reactions like this that get people annoyed. Let the process happen and think of all the possibilities, I ‘m sure you have heard of cases put forward by prosecutors with circumstantial evidence and been laughed out of the building and and made pay heavy compensation for the privilege. Look up Andrew Mallard or Graham Stafford. It does happen.

JessP this is also one of the nuances of the reporting that takes place to ensure that the accused is not prejudiced if the matter goes to trial. For all we know he may have been previously convicted and is on the sex offenders register but it can’t be mentioned in this press release.

In terms of libel I do not think this would be the case SupamanDatHo if the Police had a warrant I think that they must have some fairly substantial evidence and given the apparent result of the raid it would seem to have been accurate.

I think creatures like this once convicted should be covered in tar and feathers and clearly labeled as a rock spider low life piece of scum degenerate

Whilst I do hate rockspiders and think they should be neutered …….. our legal system does work around the basis of “innocent until proven guilty” This alleged rockspider has not been proven as yet.

If and/or when they are found guilty, then let the public neutering begin 🙂
