On another note, why did someone have to break into a church on a sunday over easter? Wouldnt the church have been open and kinda busy at that time?

Perhaps the thief was a regular church-goer who knew how much they take on Easter Sunday, and when the church would be empty.

To get $20,000 you only need 400 people to chip in a $50, and religious holidays tend to be “catchup days” for congregations.

A $20k cash rated safe isn’t expensive, but remembering to bolt it to the floor is what gets most people.
