ACT Policing has arrested a 42-year-old Campbell man in relation to a number of unresolved warrants in South Australia.
Around 10.45am on Thursday (5 May), City Patrol general duties members were conducting a patrol around Braddon when they had cause to speak to the man. While conducting checks on his identity, police identified that the man had three unresolved arrest warrants in South Australia.
The man was arrested by ACT Policing and communication with police in South Australia identified they would be seeking to extradite the man back to South Australia to answer the warrants.
North District Superintendent Mick Calatzis said that the arrest of the man shows that the cooperation between police jurisdictions is alive and well.
“Police around Australia work closely with each other and arrests and extraditions like this prove that our communication systems and working relationships across all jurisdictions are positive and working well” Superintendent Calatzis said.
The man was conveyed to the ACT Watch House and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning. Police will be opposing bail until members from South Australia Police can attend the ACT Magistrates Court to apply for extradition.
