Mount Ainslie Mountain Bike Accident

Well lordie be… I saw the action, the excitement was palpable, as the orange suited ones carrying blankets headed down the slippery bit, I thought it was an exercise and mentally congratulated the participants on how real they looked… as I returned down the bitumen track, not a stone’s throw from the centre of activity, I heard muffled voices on a two way and mentally waited for the crrrk sound to indicate the end of the transmission, but it never came, either that or the sound failed to penetrate the dry sclerophyll bush between me and the action, soon enough I was around the corner, and the memory of what i had just witnessed faded, as did the afternoon light shortly thereafter, however I did get home before the sun set, which I thought was quite a good effort as that meant I shaved ten minutes off the normal promenade style of descent, so when I emerged at the bottom, near the war memorial, no-one could call me slack or slow. Hope the rider is OK.
