ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery of a taxi driver in Hardwick Crescent Holt, early today (Tuesday, June 28).
About 4.00am the taxi driver was asleep in his vehicle in the Kippax Fair shopping centre car park when he was woken by a knock on the driver’s window. The taxi driver noticed a man and woman standing next to the driver’s door and wound down the window to speak to them. The female offender then produced a knife and demanded the victim’s wallet and phone. The victim handed over his wallet and phone after which both offenders ran towards Kippax Fair shopping centre.
Both offenders are described as aged between 25 and 30 years. They were both wearing dark coloured clothing with hoods over their heads.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the aggravated robbery this morning, or may have seen either of the two offenders matching the above descriptions in the Kippax area, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
