The ACT Fire Brigade has evacuated the Gungahlin Post Office following a gas leak.
An excavator operator punctured an underground pipe in Efkapidis Street at around 11:45am.
Firefighters have shut off the gas and evacuated the nearby post office as a precaution. HAZMAT crews will undertake atmospheric monitoring to ensure the gas has dissipated before allowing people back inside.
A contractor is working to repair the pipe.
