ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Tuggeranong yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, August 24).
Around 12.20pm, two women were walking through the car park behind the Salvation Army House building in Greenway when they were approached by a man.
The man grabbed hold of an envelope one of the women was carrying and pulled it away from her, causing her to fall to the ground. The envelope contained cash and a mobile phone. The offender took the envelope and got into the passenger seat of a burgundy coloured Mazda. The victim attempted to open the driver’s door but the vehicle drove off.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid twenties, approximately 175cm (5’9”) tall with short brown hair and a short brown beard. He was wearing a grey coloured long sleeve top.
The driver of the vehicle is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid twenties with black hair and a black beard. He was wearing a black jacket.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have seen the men or vehicle matching the above descriptions in the Greenway area around midday yesterday to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
