Now there speaks someone who hasn’t tried great American wine. Australian wines are fantastic, but so are French, Italian, American etc etc wines, and they’re all different and worth trying.

I used to travel regularly to the east coast of the US, and stay with wine fanciers. Those buttery high alcohol Californian chardonnays, the Syrahs, the cabernets…I miss them so much. And because of the “coals to Newcastle” idea, nobody imports fine American wine to Australia. What a loss.

Oh…if you ever see wine from Arizona though, avoid it like the plague, or like cliches, because it’s terrible.

I think by the time it got there it would taste crap.

I’m sure it would be easier to order the case from a US importers website and have it delivered to your friends house.

Try this place for example. Worked out costs $US25 to ship to Montomery AL for one case.

Although he has said that Coronas taste different here than they do over there.

When you’re drinking Coronas for half the price, they are bound to taste different! But seriously, the shipping on a case of beer who be astronomical. I recently sent a care package in a small PostPack box of Tim Tams, Twisties, BBQ shapes etc, and the postage was ~$40 (for contents to the value of $12!). This included a $9 levy US postal whacks on because they are going broke.

You are better off looking for an online beer store in the US that stocks an Australian beer and send him one that way.

Yes yes, you can laugh about it now. But you know what I meant. There are other varieties of wines that aren’t common here that are worth bringing in for something different.
