Isn’t it just pissing it down!
Who’da thought bricks got thirsty, it’s been raining solidly for hours and the bricks of the building are only just starting to get slick.
Hurrah!
(BTW The weather radar is here)

Well, it is to do with the national museum and a fish…I’ll let your imagination work it out until Johnboy decides to add it to the collection (or I’ll email it if he doesn’t)
Samuel
Nope, already got it…for nearly a year now…but I have 50 invites to give away…
Must send johnboy one of the photos I found on the webcams last year.
Samuel
Thanks – I used to look at these all the time last year.
ps – was it you that wanted a gmail?
Yep, sure do, [here]
Acessible from the home page via the weather link and then the webcam link.
Samuel
samuel – do you have the address for the ACTEW cams? I can’t get to it from their site anymore.
I like the weather company, I admire and would love to know how they made a successful business out of re-releasing the BOM info. I guess all the TV Stations cutting costs by outsourcing graphics had something to do with it…but there has to be more to it.
The main reason I don’t like ninemsn is that it falls into the category of “Reminds me of, or requires me to use Internet Explorer”. I don’t like these things, but will use them when required.
Shameless Plug: Hooray for Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird http://www.mozilla.org/
Samuel
Maybe it’s because they’re two very dodgy companies colluding to expand their dominance in a new field?
Yep, that does it for me.
Yes I realize it comes from the met.office Samuel…. I’m just a bit perplexed at all the antininemsnism.
and The Weather Company is the originator of those images CUH, weatherzone is their “consumer” service, and they provide weather graphics for a number of news services…there is a small difference between the two pictures, ninemsn have changed the aspect ratio and make Australia look skinnier…ninemsn also have lots of ads.
Samuel
Yes, the green tinge is nice. I would like to see more rain…there is some cloud forming near Adelaide, perhaps if you hold your breath and get Tim to shake his stick it will rain again.
Samuel
funny how you notice the instant green appear tinge in all the grass…within a day of some rain!
I most certainly hope it’s less than 6-8 months Fiona. I’ve already lost two shrubs and one tree (due to lack of water), and I can’t afford to turn the sprinkler on, because I get ‘slugged’ with a massive water bill from ACTEW if I do !
It’s this one
But I’m not sure if I’m comfortable with the bandwith usage (ie is it only downloading the map I want or all of them?)
In any event it gives a great view out of the dashboard
JB – which dashboard widget are you using? I’m assuming this is on your new ibook?
I think the IMPORTANT point is — will there be follow-up rain ?
gee, wonder which one is the original source???
No.. Wait… hmm maybe BOM could be the better place to actually get this information?
That second link you put up is exactly the same picture as the ninemsn link.
hmmm, to clarify my first comment…I was trying to say that I haven’t seen the ActewAGL webcams with pictures as dark as they were for quite a long time.
Samuel
Fair enough…you can freeze it and control it with the buttons on the top of the page.
The Weather Company (who don’t sell rain) have some nice country/state satellite & radar images http://www.weatherzone.com.au/currentweather/satellites.jsp?state=AUS
Samuel
That BOM display is all very well Samuel, but that continual ‘back and forth’ motion tends to give me vertigo !
Indeed
I’ve got the BOM radar loop out of Captains Flat streaming into my dashboard. sux to be a windoze l0s3r.
ninemsn yuck! (Sorry, personal bias).
Much prefer the BOM animated satellite images http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDE00902.loop.shtml
Samuel
Yes, unfortunately the Satellite Picture shows the cloud moving out into the Pacific Ocean …… http://weather.ninemsn.com.au/weather/satellite/default.asp
tim read the weather map is all
I should have promised to bring the rain in exchange for beautiful women sleeping with me.
now that’d be a good rep to get going…
I haven’t seen the ActewAGL webcams are darker than I’ve seen in quite a while.
Tim The Yowie Man must have done well.
Just had a look at the BOM Weather Radar and I see some slightly heavier falls on the way.
