A 49-year-old Latham man has been arrested and charged with drink driving offences after being stopped by police in Holt around 10.15pm last night (Sunday, October 16).
Police were conducting a mobile patrol along Hardwick Crescent, Holt, when a grey Ford Laser was observed to quickly enter the car park of the West Belconnen Leagues Club, which raised the suspicion of the officers.
The officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who then undertook a roadside breath analysis, which resulted in a positive alcohol reading.
The Latham man was conveyed to the Belconnen Police Station where he returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.132 grams of alcohol per 210 litres of exhaled breath.
During the testing, police discovered that the man has eight previous drink driving convictions, and was also disqualified by the ACT Magistrates Court from driving.
The man was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House and is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
