ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted aggravated robbery in Mawson on Sunday night (October 30).
Around 7pm an 18-year-old man was approached by two men as he sat on the side of the road on Power Street in Mawson to make a phone call.
One of the men demanded the victim hand over the mobile phone and went to grab it. He tried to pry the phone from the victim however was unsuccessful. The victim was assaulted during the incident, resulting in his glasses being broken.
Members of the public came to the assistance of the victim, who received only minor injuries. No property was stolen.
One of the offenders has been identified by police while the second offender is yet to be identified. He was described as “young looking”, about 5’8” (173cm) tall with dark-coloured skin and short, dark-coloured hair with a slight curl.
