Actually, smarties all, ‘Winter is Canberra is hell’ is pretty good, IMHO. Not what I meant to type, of course, but fully sic.

Actually, I think you’ll find it’s a bit cooler than that.
Holden Caulfield, your friendly nether-weather–man.
And the hot weather over the weekend was great, wasn’t it? My first sun-burn, and I’m so proud.
Will you be as proud when you have skin cancer?
No mum.

The whingers should all move to England and enjoy the lovely grey climate…Or go the the coast and acquaint themselves with the beach. Winter is Canberra is hell.
It’s great that it’s getting hotter. Less than 50 days to Christmas!
Pot calling the kettle black much poetix?….if “Winter is(sic) Canberra is hell” then perhaps you might like to move oneself to say the Sahara Desert?
Touche!
Ditto. Nice catch!
I loooove this kind of weather! Just perfect. Especially with the clouds. Wish they’d been around on Saturday when I got digging in the garden and wouldn’t let myself take a break to go find the sunscreen.
The birds have been going crazy around my place. Unfortunately I go to bed a tad too late to be cool with waking up at 5am. But there are worse ways to wake up.
Oh and no, this summer lover does not have aircon. And I never intend to get it either. When it gets to 35+ you can find us at the pool, lake or river in the afternoon until sunset. Obviously my office building does have aircon and I freeze my butt of here all summer. I love walking outside after work and feeling the heat surround me.
I discovered on my last overseas trip that tropic heat is a different kettle of fish though. I loved it for the first few hours, then I started thinking that I would probably just drop dead if I had to walk another meter through the heat soup.

Damn it…
I think we missed out on all the nice rains this time round…
Yep, although some fell on the catchment areas. Of course, with dams almost full it doesn’t make much difference to suburbia.

But now that plastic bags are banned surely it should be getting cooler?

umm. Winter will come back next March. Can’t we all enjoy this beautifully WARM spring?
And yet, so many people who profess to enjoy hot weather also have air conditioning in their homes and cars. most odd.
I believe the recent heat is due to the sudden increase in ‘thick’ plastic bag production.
I see the forecast for Sunday has now reduced to 29 in todays Canberra Times- (12.38 Sunday)

Looks like we might get some rain during the heat, too. Or at least storms. We desperately need rain, witner and spring were very dry.
On the subject of heat, and controlling it with airconditioning – does anyone know a good aircon servicer?
Goodbye winter and spring, I will miss you…
Winter I miss.
Spring can take its hay-fever inducing arse and piss off.
Goodbye winter and spring, I will miss you…
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. I love winter. I think it’d be perfect if we had the cold of winter combined with the long days of summer, and vice versa.

Ha ha. 28C is t-shirt weather. It is the 38C for several days that needs the split system engaged.
