I have been searching for one after the shop next to Gus closed down. I discovered a korean hairdresser at North Lyneham next to Choku Bai Jo, and tried it yesterday and it was a decent cut.
i guess any good hair dresser would fix you up regardless of what type do you want given he is skilled .
The hairdresser next to Gus’ cafe in the city that has been there for about 100 years..One half of it is now staffed with Korean stylists, I am sure they could handle the job.

There was lots of posts on here about hairdresser (search is your friend), as far as asian hair, isn’t there is one opposite the IGA on Marcus Clarke street? White building.
Bit racist?
😀
Sorry, didn’t have time to look up the proper name in Dulux swatch for that colour. 🙂

The problem with african hair is, many africans don’t want it! They don’t want afros and the like. You know all those african ladies you see with straight or wavy or curly hair (not frizzy)? Well, they’ve either had their hair re-engineered (straightened usually) by someone who knows how to do it, or, they’re wearing wigs. Wig-wearing is incredibly common among african women, some American guy spilled the beans in a documentary a few years back and they haven’t forgiven him yet, by all accounts.
Hmm, actually the guy is Chris Rock!

So a hairdresser who can do african hair is apparently a hairdresser who knows how to make it not like african hair. The ACT local ladies that I know have resorted to wigs, but with all the Sudanese here now, you’d think a hairdresser would have set up shop too.

if anyone knows of a hairdresser in the ACT region who does african hair, please post it here as I know someone who desperately needs such a hairdresser!
Joe the Barber (Dickson Tradies) once said to me with some pride that he was the only one in his class at hairdresser school (my words) who could do an afro freehand. Up until that point, I’d never even considered the issue. Expect he’s well out of practice by now, though :-\

Non-anglo people have some real issues with getting their hair done competently. African people (black ones) have horrendous issues, if anyone knows of a hairdresser in the ACT region who does african hair, please post it here as I know someone who desperately needs such a hairdresser!

how hard is it to deal with asian hair?
Asian people have a corse and thick type of hair that if cut wrong will not sit right and needs to be cut a certain way – there is a lady in kaleen who does hair from home who is Vietnamese and she does great with my mother in law and partners hair (as they are asian) also my sister in law gets her hair done at places like TG’s in civic – they girls there are wonderful and talented – alicia or sarah – don’t go for the cheap it will just burn you in the end. Or even just find a hairdresser who is also asain .

My understanding is it’s quite different to european hair.
Different part lines, different response to colour.
Yo,

Also, Belconnen surely has couple of places.
As for “good hair cut” in general- what one considers being “good” can be a disaster for other.A bit like a dentist/GP.
Good luck. 🙂
