On Monday afternoon it was a striking lineup of cars taking advantage of free parking in Turner.

Strangely enough the parking inspectors where out in force at lunch time today in Turner
TAMS is just showing they can knee-jerk to a media report as well as anyone else.

Oh noes… parking inspectors read the riot act! We’re doomed!

Where did you go to school? 😛

Sometimes it is worth the risk KT67 – a $81 fine is cheaper than paying $11+/day parking if you only get a fine once a fortnight on average, even once a week you are ahead.
How is copping an $81 fine once a week cheaper than $55 in parking for the week?

I walk past this street on my walk to and from work every day. All parking on the street is timed parking during business hours. On my way home at least once a fortnight I see a number of cars parked along the street with little yellow envelopes under their wipers, pretty sure they aren’t early Christmas cards 🙂
It is a nice wide street with houses on only one side. I don’t see a problem.
Dickson is like this, only cars are parked all down tiny little streets, right near schools and daycare centres where people are trying to cross the road with strollers etc.
I’m going to complain about it to Canberra Connect at once. Leaches on society all of ’em.
I think you’ll find that there are no parking signs along that street, I have only seen the inspectors patrol there once or twice though.
