ACT Policing has apprehended two drink drivers while conducting traffic enforcement along Belconnen Way, Aranda, this morning (Friday, November 25).
About 3.30am, police stopped a red Ford Falcon, driven by a 19-year-old Florey woman.
The woman underwent a roadside breath analysis which indicated a positive breath sample. She was conveyed to the Belconnen Police Station where she recorded an alcohol content of 0.068.
Around 4.30am, police observed the same red Ford Falcon driving along Belconnen Way.
The vehicle, being driven by a 21-year-old Giralang man was stopped by police, and he undertook a roadside breath analysis which indicated a positive breath sample. He was conveyed to the Belconnen Police Station where he recorded an alcohol content of 0.064.
Both drivers will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date and will be subject to the new legislation involving the mandatory alcohol and drug awareness course.
