Yet again I’m searching for some cool Christmas lights displays I can take the kids to see…
Can anyone recommend houses or particular streets that get into the Christmas spirit and cover their houses with an insane number of pretty lights??

An update on Macumba place Kaleen. The grapevine tells me that a couple of families aren’t talking to each other so it may not be a group effort this year.
Tennyson st in Forrest looks the goods this year. Also, hearing from co-workers that Amagula ave in Ngunnawal is a non-starter this year…That’s a pity if its true.
Thanks guys….a friend told me about the world record house that’s crazy stuff! Will definitely go & see it though.
Thanks again 🙂

Saw them on the Today show this morning. What’s the crowding like to see it?

Dropped by there last night. Wow!! And synced to the Xmas music playing.
Try these places: http://www.achievesuccess.com.au/christmas/christmas_activities/christmas_lights_canberra.htm. I can vouch for the Ngunnawal entries. There is also a church group doing a bus tour: http://www.canberratimes.com.au/eventdetails/christmas-lights-annual-tour/61352.aspx

+1 for Slavin Place in Gordon. Last year was excellent, walking room only, a band (I believe the Salvos), et al. BYO sneaky beer whilst the kids run rampant.

and if you google christmas lights canberra, you will find lists of houses that nominate they have displays. They are usually done by radio stations.
There are usually good displays at Slavin Place Gordon, Bissenberger street Kambah and a few others.
