A 21-year-old Richardson man today (Wednesday, December 21) has been charged with intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm after an incident outside the ICBM nightclub in Civic early last Sunday morning (December 18).
ACT Policing took the alleged offender into custody after he attended City Police Station around 12.10pm today. He was interviewed and admitted to having struck the victim, a 26-year-old Aranda man, on the jaw with a clenched fist.
The assault resulted in the victim suffering two jaw fractures, four broken teeth, a laceration to the back of his head, and a ruptured ear canal. The victim will require further surgery and ongoing orthodontic treatment.
The alleged offender was released this evening under strict ACT Watch House bail conditions and will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on January 12, 2012.
