Cricket ACT and the Australian Cricketers Association are excited to host a huge Festival of Cricket this weekend to round out our Centenary Celebrations!

This Friday, 17 February, will see an action-packed afternoon of cricket at Manuka Oval with three matches played, culminating in the ACA Masters taking on an ACT XI of former greats and emerging talent (7 pm). There’ll also be competitions with some great prizes on offer.

Come and see Sydney Thunder star Alex Ross rub shoulders with one of the ACT’s very best and recent inductee as a member of the Cricket ACT Team of the Century, Peter Solway! The day will start with a celebration of Canberra’s rich multicultural cricket community, supported by the Sydney Thunder (12.00pm), and it will be followed by a Cricket ACT Chairman’s XI taking on a Chief Minister’s XI in a 15-over-a-side contest featuring local politicians and media, Capitals and Raiders representatives, and some of our best junior talent (4.30pm).

Bring the kids as we will be giving away $400 in Greg Chappell Cricket Centre vouchers in a high catching competition! The innings break will feature a relay race with our competing junior clubs looking to secure a $500 Capital Trophies and Sportwear voucher.

Come for the day, or just join us when you’re free, the first game commences at midday with the final game commencing at 7 pm. Entry into Manuka Oval is via a gold coin donation with all proceeds going to ‘Heart of the Nation’ supporting the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators for ACT Cricket Clubs. Food and drinks/alcohol will be available for purchase at the ground.
