…we were always taught that if you are not obviously Australian Army, then you are stopped until you identify yourself in an emergency situation. Stopping someone comes in many forms from a verbal warning to a flat hand to the chest to the buttstock of an F-88.
This explains a few things about inter-service relationships.
How does this explain interservice relationships?
Is this a butt-stroking joke?
No, it’s a vacuum cleaner joke.

Is this clip supposed to have some hidden significance?
Looks like a simple case of ‘who the f*ck are you?’, followed by sorry, come on mate.
I think that is exactly what it is a case of. Not sure if the AFP procedures are the same as the ADF taught us but we were always taught that if you are not obviously Australian Army, then you are stopped until you identify yourself in an emergency situation. Stopping someone comes in many forms from a verbal warning to a flat hand to the chest to the buttstock of an F-88.
Exactly. I did some CPP training with ground defence at RAAF Richmond.
Better to stop them first and then say sorry rather than the other way around.
Similar in the RAN. Upper deck sentries in hostile situations were to:
– Request the person attempting to board cease doing so.
– If the person continued to attempt to board, they were to be resisted with as much force as necessary.
– If hostile divers were suspected to be in the water, actions up to and including dropping small explosive charges were allowable under appropriate order.
Of course, with the last one, if they were friendly, it would be hard for them to understand you were apologising afterwards. 🙂

Me thinks somebody is trying to draw attention away from the other 240+ comments thread, so as to avoid giving a Mully prize to Julia/Abbott/Tent Embassy….
JB??
