Great guy and great work

Recently got some work done in the backyard by Captive Landscapes after some friends recommended them. I had no idea what was best to do as it is a pretty sloping yard so they came up with a few options with free quotes on each.

Ended up getting some stone retaining walls put in with some paved paths and steps. Work all looks great and they finished it within the time agreed and the boys cleaned up all their builders scrap etc so could not be happier. Will use them again as am looking to do a deck and would recommend them.

I’ve just used MtNez Landscaping and Concreting for my backyard. I wanted a dog proof easy care yard so they have put in some retaining walls, compressed red granite, synthetic turf, raised garden beds, sprayed concrete and lots of mulch.

It is fantastic and they have done a quality job. Good family business and they are all lovely and turn up when they say they will.

He is not ‘fancy’ so just does fairly straight forward stuff (rocks, shrubs, mulch arrangements) but if you have an idea of what you want or are happy to go with his suggestions, the quote is free and then he just does the work – no fancy plans or anything. There are other landscapers who charge a ridiculous amount just to come out and give a quote and prepare a design. He did our front yard and now there’s no need to mow.

If you just want someone reliable to come and tidy up your yard, then there’s a very reliable guy named Gary – 0419 491 615. Oddly enough I found him from the Chronicle and found him to be excellent. I was unimpressed with the first ones I got from the Chronicle – Ace Gardening charged a LOT, were there well under the quoted time but still charged the full amount for the full time. Also said they’d come back to spray weeds (and we paid for it) but they never came back. So I never used them again and switched to Gary who is very honest and does what he says.
