ACT Policing is seeking to speak with a witness who had assisted a taxi driver in distress in Tuggeranong early yesterday morning (Friday, March 2).
The driver allegedly had been assaulted and robbed by a man who had ridden in his cab from the city to Richardson.
When the driver fled on foot from his taxi and called out for assistance following the incident in Kiddle Street, Richardson around 6.30am yesterday, the witness came to his aid.
The victim described the witness as an older male, and it is believed that he lives in the immediate area of the incident. He can get in contact with detectives by providing his details to Police Operations on 131-444.
Police later arrested a man in relation to this incident and he faced the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, March 3) on several charges, including aggravated robbery.
