Robbery with scissors

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery which occurred at the Foodworks in Pearce last night (Monday, March 5).

About 6.35 pm a man entered the store on Symons Street in Pearce armed with a pair of scissors. He approached the staff member behind the counter and demanded he open the cash register. The offender emptied the cash register, taking a sum of money, along with some alcohol and cigarettes, before fleeing the store.

The offender is described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, aged between 19 – 22 years-of-age, approximately 165cm – 170cm tall (5’6”), with a slim build. He was wearing light coloured camouflage cargo shorts, a dark Adidas hooded zip-up jacket with 3 stripes on each sleeve, a dark cap and white slip-on shoes.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in Pearce about 6.30pm last night or is able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
