Adza, it is true. A lot of people on here just have a whinge because they are bored, either that or they are genuinely sterile wankers. You can bet your last dollar on 99% of such people doing absolutely nothing for anybody else, as they are primarily concerned with themselves.

God there are some whingeing pricks on here… are you the same people that complain about the noise the V8 Supercars make, or Summernats, or the old dragway?

Perhaps a flower show is more to your taste?

It’s for a good cause, FFSs the lead truck company donated $10,000 to the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support group, and there were 350 trucks at (I believe) a minimum of $30 each. By my calculation that’s over $20,000 raised for a worthy charity.

Yep, I did something useful – To stay in the general mood, I drove along for a while, following the trucks with my horn down, making a noise, weaving in and out of the traffic, But, sorry, no matter how much I revved the engine, I simply could not create as much visual pollution as the trucks…

I wonder who will make a donation on my behalf? How much did they donate? Wow, I feel so much better now that I have actively contributed to society…..

You live on a main thoroughfare. Don’t like the noise? Move.

Yeah, well, I live on Northbourne Ave and these trucks were very noisy…luckily I was down the coast at the time 😉

Criticism of people for having pride in their vehicles, their businesses, their job, whilst contributing to a worthy cause, is hardly a friend-winner.

I am happy that these drivers get the opportunity to display this pride to a (generally) appreciative audience.

C’mon ant. I would have thought that you of all people would have more compassion for what is in essence a great cause 🙁

Yeah, there were people sitting in Yass road, in Qbn, looking expectant, and all the way from there to Canberra, cars parked on the roadside. A whole heap of noise-enhanced harleys wanked past (fair dinkum, a bloke in his fancy dress on one of those things has a great big I AM A TOTAL WANKER sign floating above him), and then the trucks started up.

What amazes me is how people actually brought chairs to sit by the roadside, to watch a bunch of honking trucks drive past. Very, very sad.

Presumably noise laws were suspended by the assembly. And Queanbeyan council.
